The last hearing happened on 10th April. Today was the judgement, and I have some awesome news. The Consumer Court has ruled in our favour! After investigation, they found the milk vendor guilty of overcharging. Since we had not asked for monetary compensation, they have fined him Rs. 1000 to be paid to us within 30 days, as cost of litigation.

Congratulations! I've had lots of unpleasant commercial experiences in Madras and vented about them in private (as do far too many other folk in India), good to see someone actually doing something about it -- and inspiring others too!

Congrats! How do you find time to attend to these offices which are probably open on business days only when you too have a hectic job?
@ashish: Shhhhhhhhh. Not so loud ;) My role doesn't require me to be in office at fixed hours, so I can work anytime I want. In the night, weekends etc. And anyway, most of the running around in the milk vendor case has been done by my wife.

Congratulations - it must feel good. I guess it's not the money that matters, it's a moral victory. I only wish it went to a wider audience, so that more people realize that you can take up these issues and win.
